NEP odds go 3-0, evens go 3-2 against Navarre, Ensley

The NEP Wildcats played host to its first mixed day of action and the results were mixed as well, as the Wildcats’ odd teams (7U, 9U, 11U) went 3-0 against Navarre and the evens (6U, 8U, 10U, 12U, 14U) went 3-2 against the Ensley Chiefs to finish the day 6-2 as a park.

The Wildcats enter this week’s bye with five of its eight teams still sporting a perfect 5-0 record. The 6U, 7U, 8U, 9U and 11U Wildcats are all 5-0 after Saturday’s win, while the 14U is 4-1, the 10U are 3-2 and the 12U dropped to 1-4.

6U keeps on rolling

The 6U Wildcats found it tough early on against the Ensley Chiefs, giving up their only points of the season, but eventually the Wildcats turned it on and rolled to a 39-12 win over the Chiefs.

It was once again the Dylan Thompkins show, as the talented tailback showed off both his running ability and passing prowess in leading the Wildcats to victory. Carson Behr also had a big game running the ball and the defense came up big when it needed to stake the Wildcats out to a big lead.

7U takes care of Navarre

The 7U Wildcats remained unbeaten on the season as they rolled in a rematch against the Raiders. A week after having to pull away from the Raiders in the second half, the Wildcats wasted little time in jumping on Navarre early in the contest.

The result was another 30-0 win for the Wildcats.

NEP jumped out to a 25-0 lead over the Raiders at the half, then scored early in the third quarter to invoke the 30-point mercy rule.

8U Wildcats win to set up big showdown

The 8U Wildcats were back at it on Saturday, showing off their balanced offense, in rolling to a 30-0 win over the Ensley Chiefs.

Six different players carried the ball in rolling up 212 yards of total offense as the Wildcats cruised to victory.

Trae Townsend led the way with 49 yards and three TDs on four carries. Keegan Flowers added 54 yards on three carries, Noah Calderon had two carries for 20 yards and Jayden Lewis had two carries for 41 yards and a score.

Kaden Posta continued to be tough on defense, getting five tackles and one forced fumble. Camden “Bone” Siefter added six tackles and three fumble recoveries.

The Wildcats move to 5-0 and will take on undefeated Cantonment next week (Oct. 6) for Homecoming.

9U Wildcats follow up big win with another blowout

The 9U Wildcats certainly didn’t experience any letdown after their big win over three-time champion Pace, rolling to a 30-0 win over the Navarre Raiders.

The Wildcats had a big day from Alonzo Harris, who scored three touchdowns to pace the offensive attack. Ziyon McCall and Micah Pugh also had touchdowns on the day, and Jaylen Wingate hauled in a touchdown pass from Dax Brooks.

Brooks put an exclamation point on the victory by returning a punt for a touchdown as the Wildcats scored seven touchdowns on the day.

10U Wildcats suffer 14-0 loss to Ensley

The 10U game was a battle throughout, with the Ensley Chiefs getting two long touchdown runs by Anthony Gee to take a 14-0 win over the Wildcats.

Gee broke a long run in the first half to give the Chiefs a 6-0 lead and it remained that way until late in the fourth quarter when the Chiefs scored again and got the two-point kick to go up 14-0.

The Wildcats’ offense had several opportunities to even the score during the contest, but fumbles kept the Wildcats from mounting any scoring drives.

11U Wildcats explode to 30-0 win over Raiders

The 11U Wildcats continued to flex its muscle, moving to 5-0 on the year with a 30-0 win over the Navarre Raiders.

The Wildcats scored on five of its seven possessions, and also added an interception return for a touchdown to roll to the easy win.

NEP jumped out to a 28-0 lead at the half, then put the game away in the second half.

The Wildcats got touchdown runs from CJ Nettles and Koby Howard, as well as an interception return for touchdown from Howard and a touchdown reception by Kaleb Posta.

The Wildcats defense held Navarre to only 8 yards of total offense and one first down in the contest.

12U Wildcats fall to Ensley Chiefs, 20-18

In the best game of the day, the 12U Wildcats fought back from a 20-12 deficit to score with 10 seconds left, before failing on the extra point attempt to lose to the Chiefs 20-18.

Kyler Battle scored all three of the Wildcats’ touchdowns, including a short touchdown run in the closing seconds to get the Wildcats to within two points of the Chiefs.

The Wildcats lined up for the two-point kick, but it was blocked by the Chiefs to preserve the victory for Ensley.

14U Junior Wildcats roll to victory

The 14U Wildcats dominated from the opening kickoff to final whistle Saturday night, cruising to a 30-0 win over the Ensley Chiefs.

The opening kickoff pinned Ensley inside their own 5-yard line and the Wildcats wasted little time getting the first points of the day with a safety.

A few minutes later, the Wildcats were in the endzone for an 8-0 lead and the rout was on.

Shamane Walker had two touchdown runs for the Wildcats, while Jaylen Lewis, Ben Nettles and Ottah Bonner also scored for the Cats.
