NEP rolls to 7-1 record against Navarre

It was another great day for the NEP Wildcats on Saturday, winning seven out of eight games against the Navarre Raiders at Roger Scott Athletic Complex.

A week after the Wildcats went 6-2 at Perdido, the Cats returned home to play host to the always tough Navarre Raiders.

But this Saturday belonged to the Wildcats, as seven of the eight teams rolled to lopsided wins.

The only team to taste defeat on the day was the 12U Wildcats, which lost to unbeaten Navarre in their contest 36-6.

6U Mightys stay unbeaten

The 6U Mighty Mites, led by coach Bobby Behr, got the day started with an absolute bang, scoring just a few seconds into the game against the Raiders and never looking back in taking a 30-0 win.

The Wildcats were led by Donovan Thompkins and Carson Behr with early touchdowns. The Wildcats defense was relentless, keeping the Raiders pinned deep in their own territory the entire game.

The Mighty Mites improved to 3-0 on the year with the victory and have claimed two 30-0 wins and a forfeit win.

7U Mini Mites roll to 26-7 win

It was a tough one early on for the 7U Mini Mites against the Raiders, but solid halftime adjustments by the Wildcats’ coaching staff allowed the Cats to pull away for a 26-7 victory.

After struggling to slow down the Raiders’ rushing attack in the first half, the Wildcats made some defensive adjustments in the second half to shut them out the rest of the way.

The Mini Mites improved to 3-0 on the year heading into this weekend’s matchup against Pace.

8U Wildcats roll to another 30-0 win

The machine that has become the 8U Wildcats scored early and often and showed off its abundance of talent with another 30-0 win over the Raiders.

The Cats had five different players cross the goal line to score touchdowns for the Wildcats.

Kaden Posta led the way with 92 yards and a touchdown on five carries while Keegan Flowers (4-55, 1 TD), Camden “Bone” Siefert (1-50, 1 TD) and Gabe Walker (1-52, 1 TD) all contributed touchdown runs. Kaden Ware caught two touchdown passes, both of them thrown by Trae Townsend.

9U Mites cruise to 30-0 victory

Not to be outdone by his colleague, coach Mike Frantz also showed off a ton of talent in the 9U game with a 30-0 win over the Raiders.

Frantz got touchdowns from several players, including Zayvion Davis, Gionni Lewis, Zyion McCall and Otha Thomas. The Wildcats’ defense was equally impressive, never allowing the Raiders to threaten in the contest.

The Wildcats moved to 3-0 on the year and set up a huge matchup with three-time champion Pace on Saturday at Pace.

10U bounces back for 30-0 win

After a disappointing loss to Perdido last week, the NEP Wildcats 10U team came out fired up on Saturday and rolled to a 30-0 win over the Navarre Raiders.

The Wildcats scored early in the contest to set the tone, then shut off the clock in the second half to earn the 30-0 victory.

NEP was led by Jayden Abney with two touchdown runs, along with Caleb Thomas and Kolby Saladino with TD runs in the Wildcats’ double wing attack.

NEP 11U yields first points of the year, still rolls

The NEP Wildcats were locked in a tight one early on against the Navarre Raiders, but a long pass play and subsequent touchdown by the Raiders woke up the Wildcats, who then went on a tear to pull out a 36-6 (official) win over the Raiders.

Once again, the 11U Wildcats showed off their versatility, scored four times on the ground and twice on defense with interception returns by Kobe Howard and Landon “Highlighter” Boesen.

The Wildcats got TD runs from CJ Nettles and Treymar Jones in pulling away for the blowout win.

12U Wildcats run into buzzsaw against Raiders

The 12U Midgets suffered the only loss of the day, falling to the unbeaten Navarre Raiders by a 36-6 margin.

The lone highlight of the day for the Wildcats was a touchdown run by Lorenzo Aples, after he picked up a fumble by Kyler Battle and took it the rest of the way for the score.

The Midgets fell to 1-2 with the loss, but those two losses have come against unbeaten Perdido and Navarre.

14U Juniors overcome slow start for 28-8 win

The 14U Wildcats fell behind early in the contest when Navarre scored on a pass play in which the receiver outfought two Wildcat defenders for the ball, then raced untouched to the endzone.

But the Wildcats bounced back to slowly pull away from the Raiders to roll to the easy victory. Jaylen Lewis had a big touchdown run late in the game to cap off the blowout.
